NBC Gets It Done

Ann Curry was given 5 minutes in the 8 o'clock hour to say goodbye.

Uh, which, I'm guessing isn't the highest ratings time for them...

Anyway, today, Savannah Guthrie was announced as replacing Ann.

The Hollywood Reporter was the first to report SG's hire - not Bangs and Cupcakes 

who was hot on the Hota Kotb trail. 

Jim Bell, The Today's Show Executive Producer had this to say about Savannah...

Her childhood sounded so interesting. Her parents were old Hollywood writers/actors

and she'd lay under the dinner table and listen to fascinating conversations 

among her parents friends. Love that. 

She died at the age of 71. That's too young.

Did y'all see the Oprah/Kardashian interview? I didn't see it..

but listened to it on Oprah Radio.

By the way, why does Oprah Radio have so many commercials?

Annoying.

Anyway, it was full of Oprah asking questions that were, uh, 

not very tough on them. Every once in awhile she would question the 

credibility of the 'realness' of their 'reality', but, she didn't do a very good 

job of holding them accountable. Whatevs. 

Point is, Oprah will now be on an upcoming show of

The Kardashians.

Huh?! Do you think this is a bottom for Oprah?

WIll she come back to daytime to resume her glory?

Or does she not care anymore? 

I don't know. Interesting from a woman who once (in a way more eloquent way)

called them all famewhores.

That's called severance, so, not that unusual.

I do feel sorry for Ann..she has to act completely normal for the next few weeks.

Kathryn Joosten has passed away after a ten year battle with lung cancer.

She was an Emmy Award winner and best known for her roles on 

Desperate Housewives and West Wing. 

This is so sad because her storyline ended on Desperate Housewives
