The LA Times is getting sued by one Jillian Michaels over a scathing review by James Fell on her new kettlebell workout. The hubby and I have done this workout, and it is a little crazy. For using a weight that is awkward and you probably don't normally use, there is no pre-instruction or time taken to really explain how and why we are using the kettlebell. A few thing in Jillians defense however: The article claims she is really an actress playing a fitness trainer on TV. (She has two certifications, which they point out in the article) I have to say, that most wannabe actors in Hollywood ARE FITNESS TRAINERS. (Trainers or restaurant workers) So, it could be and is probably no secret that her ambition was to parlay this into some sort of "Hollywood" career. So what? There could be some jealousy in the namecalling, etc. Just a thought. Understandably, the fitness community is upset at her seemingly 'Rambo' approach to fitness without taking the proper channels to educate her dedicated followers on how to protect themselves from injury. Maybe this is a lesson for all. In her other videos the moves are effective and safe, this one-not so sure.
