Maura Kelly's Blog Post

Maura Kelly recently blogged in Marie Clare (read it HERE) on the TV sitcom Mike & Molly. (Watch it on your local CBS affiliate, wink) Her position on the issue is it's hard to watch fat people make out on TV. Oh, and that it makes her sick to watch fat people walk across a room too. Was the post insensitive? Yes. Was there some truth to it? Probably. Here's the thing: Obesity is an epidemic in America. It's rampant. People need to be educated. Food needs to be better prepared and the owness is on EVERYONE. From the restaurant industry to how you were raised, a million things factor into your current eating habits as an adult. The media needs to talk about it, but maybe the approach could be less accusatory and more understanding be placed on the foundation which a Mike or a Molly is built.
