Matt Lauer's contract is up next year. Rumor is that NBC execs met with Ryan Seacrest to talk with him about replacing Matt in case he leaves a la Meredith Viera. Uh, okay. Listen, Ryan wanting Larry King's gig...I could see. An hour show interviewing newsmakers and celebrities. Fine. Go for it Ryan. Replacing Matt Lauer? No. Way. Could you see Ryan interviewing heads of state? Interrogating killers? Bad moms? Crazy people? NO. Basically Matt can't leave. He's a brilliant interviewer. One of the best. I understand he's been on The Today Show forever, but, I hope he stays a little longer. At least until someone worthy can take his place. What about Willie Geist?

I LOOOOOOVE Matt Lauer, he simply cannot leave. That would be the worst! Ryan Seacrest seems like a terrible option. I could get behind Willie Geist, he's pretty good. I think Ann Curry is stunningly beautiful, but sometimes her interviews are just plain awkward. I want Savannah Guthrie to take her place, love her!
