The New Normal

Did you see last nights episode?
I'm obsessed with it.
Mainly because I was that little girl singing Cher in front of an assembly...
Well, not that specifically, but in High School I did sing
a Tori Amos song about rape in front of our Speech class.
I digress.
Oh, I also dressed up as Cher after I started dating my now husband
and when people asked who I was I tossed my hair and licked my lips.
Ohhhhhh. (Cher voice)
*It was Halloween for the record.
Also, I wouldn't recommend that to get a man, but, in my case it worked.
Anyway, back to the show.
I loved the idea of the show from the beginning...
I was a little put off by how stereotypical it was, but,
I think with each episode it gets better and better.
The 'what kind of baby' debate is also top of mind for me.
As the parents mistakenly find out they are having a boy by
their surrogate one is happy, one upset.
Lee and I waited to see what the sex of our baby was..
and the whole time we kept saying we wanted a healthy one.
Which, is totally true.
We did. More than anything.
And my husband insists that boy/girl til this day doesn't matter to him one bit.
I wouldn't trade James for anything. Obviously. Nothing.
But, while pregnant, I did kinda feel a twinge for a girl.
I wanted to sing Broadway scores with her and teach
her that kitten heels are rarely appropriate.
I totally plan on singing Broadway scores with James.
Don't get it twisted.
And, honestly, it doesn't matter. At all.
Two close friends of ours are finding out what their twins are going
to be at this moment, so, here's to them and it
really not mattering.
