Mothers Day

Yesterday was Mother's Day.
Let me say, after becoming one last October
my life has obviously changed.
In addition to the love, schedule changes, complete upheaval of
what used to be...there is an innate sense of selflessness that immediately begins.
My mom comments on how I 'took' to so many things..
And, you do. Because honestly I was worried.
I really wasn't someone who always imagined myself with tons of kiddos..
I never said 'I can't wait to be a mom!'
More because I was afraid I wouldn't be good at it.
But a 'good' mom is constantly figuring it out.
A 'good' mom is someone who is vested in their child.
And giving ourselves a break because there isn't a wrong or right way...
There are lots of books, but no official manual. And if there was, I wouldn't read it anyway.
Our instincts are the true guide.
To my mother, I am eternally grateful.
To all the women in my life, I am blessed to know them.
Happy Mothers Day.

What a beautiful post. I, too, have never said, "I can't wait to be a mom!" Unlike you, I'm never taken the leap. Congratulations on figuring it out ~ You are a GREAT mom! (Darling photos, btw.)
