Say it ain't so. Gourmet has been around since 1940 and will be closed by years end. I must say, I did my part. I subscribe to Gourmet magazine and loved flipping through its pages each month. Flipping through the pages is as far as I got because I don't think I ever made one recipe from the magazine. Ever. (Maybe something for Thanksgiving? Uh, no, I didn't) But, the fantasy of me whipping up something with ingredients I'm pretty sure would leave me at Whole Foods for hours was a fun mind trick I played on myself. Bummer.
