Food, Inc.
Of course I have a Bachelor post that I'm readying in my brain but first, Food, Inc. the documentary. Have you seen it? Rent it now. It shows the evolution of our food, what we consume, and who puts it in our super markets. From seed to purchase and all the things that go into getting it there. It's eye-opening to say the least. I'm not a red meat eater anyway. Never have been. (Which is weird since my dad owned a steak house, but, I just didn't like it.) I'm not crazy about not eating meat, but may be more careful now. They showed how they slaughter piggies (awful), chickens (beyond horrible) and of course cows. Seeing the cruelty to these animals isn't new, but this movie shows the workers that are payed little to nothing to do all the grunt work and then get abused by the corporations that control them. It's sad to see farmers spend their life savings on lawyers to protect their seeds. Literally speaking. Also, I have to confess that while watching it I was eating a salad from a Mexican fast food place with chicken. So, here's to today I guess? And nachos. I had nachos too. Yum.
