A Journalist POV

As a TV reporter, I've got to cover some pretty cool stories.
And some really sad ones.
Last year, on Christmas Day, I was sent to a families home with two
little girls who had just been robbed leaving no presents under the tree.
Until neighbors and friends pitched in.
A bad situation turned out ok because of the goodness of the human spirit.
What happened on Friday has no explanation.
No goodness. No silver lining.
It's horrific.
I have to say watching I was struck by the terror,
but also the people covering it.
I called my husband and said if I was sent to Newtown,
I would've cried. On camera.
I would've wept for those families,
been consumed by the enormity of the situation.
And I wouldn't have apologized for it.
Hopefully, there is some peace to be found for these families
who will never be the same.
God Bless them all.
